Coincheck is a Bitcoin exchange that is based in Tokyo which also provides pairings between Ethereum and fiat currencies. It was founded in 2014 and is regarded as being the preeminent Japanese cryptocurrency exchange. In addition to functioning as a Bitcoin and Ethereum exchange, Coincheck can be used as a cryptocurrency wallet. 2FA and cold storage ensure that customers’ coins are kept secure. It also has an API that enables developers to build applications around it. Customers can get fiat currency into their Coincheck account using wire transfer or credit card. Coincheck has more trading volume than any other exchange in Japan and also has a strong user base throughout Asia. The Yen is the default fiat currency that crypto prices are displayed in.
